On Tuesday we did some free writing ( Tuhimahorahora ) but in maori. It wasn't much of a challenge but it was fun to see how much maori I have learnt. The thing I liked was seeing if I could write it on my own because I wanted to challenge myself and I did pretty well. The thing I disliked was nothing because I enjoyed it. The easy part was knowing what I was going to write about because we had a photo to write about. The hard part was writing it in maori because I´m not very good at maori so that was pretty hard. The thing I will do next time is write a bite more because I did not write that. Here is my writing.
I am a year 10 student at Bay of Islands College in Kawakawa, New Zealand. This is a place where I share my learning.

Eye art
The past weeks we have been doing some eye art. Our eye art is about what your goal is for next year. So you have to draw an eye and draw what you think you would be doing next year or what your goal is for next year. My goal is to speak more Maori so I drew the maori flag and someone talking in my eye. We also used water color to paint it. The thing I liked was my idea because I very much like maori. The thing I disliked was drawing them because I'm not the best at drawing. The easy part was knowing what colors I would use. The hard part was actually doing water color because it was a bit confusing on how to do it. The thing I will do next time is draw the eye for myself because my teacher drew it for me ( Thanks Whaea Toni ) Here is a not so good photo of my unfinished art work.

Shootout
This week we have been doing some procedure writing. Procedure writing is a type of writing, procedure writing is steps like the first step the second step and so on. Well our class had to chose a game we had played this term and I chose a game called shootout. The part that was fun about this was making a diagram to show how to play because I tried to make it look cool. The part I disliked was writing how to play because that took long to write because its hard to write but not hard to explain. The easy part was writing what materials you need and there was no hard part. The thing I will do next time is make a better diagram. Here is my procedure writing about the game shootout.

The stolen stars of MATARIKI
Today Whaea Toni read us a story called the stolen stars of matariki. Author Miriama Kamo and illustrated by Zak Waipara. As you know the stars of matariki are Waiti,Waita, Waipunarangi, Tupuanuku, Tupuarangi, Ururangi, Matariki and two you might not know Hiwa-i-te-rangi and Pohutakawa. Anyway I deiced to blog about something that interested me in that story. So the thing that interested me was a agate. I wondered what it was and found out it was a gemstone. Also what interested me was what color it could be or if it was multi colored and I found out it can be multi colored black, green, blue and more.

Free writing
The shadow
The first walk I took when level 2 was lifted was so beautiful. The sight of seeing flowers bloom once again was outstanding, hearing the birds tweet was the best and the wind pounding against my face was like being free from a cage. I got my feat all muddy and wet but it didn't matter because I had not been out for 7 weeks. I splashed and splashed until there was no water left all that was there was soggy mud. After that I saw a shadow run pass a flower that was about to bloom however something very weird happened it started to rote. It happened again and again and again it was like level 4 was back and nature was dying out. The shadow kept appearing and disappearing it was the creepiest thing I had ever encountered. This was like my nightmare had become a reality I then felt it touch me. I was starting to freak out and I panicked I didn't know what to do. I screamed out for help but no one heard me I then had felt sick and blacked out. I woke up and found out it was just a dream or was it...

Kahoot game
This week I have created a kahoot from my class to play and the topic is about waiata we sing at our school. I wanted to see if they remember the songs we learnt after the huge breakout of covid-19. The part I liked the most was putting in the waiata because I have learnt so many at my school and its just been so much fun. The thing I disliked the most was writing in which song because I only did 15 in the time I was given so I wish I had gotten more time. The hard part was seeing what the questions I should put in because it was pretty hard. The easy part was most of it and the thing I will work on next time is ask for a few more minutes. Here is a snick pick of my kahoot I created.

T.A.C.O
Today we learnt about a acronym called t.a.c.o ( Tense, Action, Characters, Object ) It was pretty easy because I had done this during lock down. The catch was we had to do it in Maori. The part that I enjoyed was writing it because it really made me think of what to write. The part that was easy was the start because I knew what tenses were so I had it in the bag. The hard part was making sure it had made scenes because I don't know a lot of Maori. The thing I will work on is going over to see if I had made any mistakes because I had made some. Here is a picture of the work i did.
A window into my lock down
Theses pass weeks have been tough but I'm finally back at school. It's my 2nd week back and I haven't blogged for a while. But here is my first since I've been at school. It has been very very fun and I've learnt heaps in this 2 weeks of school. I made a thing called a window into my lock down which my whole class has done. We had to make things that keep us company during lock down. The hard part was making the logo that kept me company because I had to scribble them and not take it of the internet. The easy part was knowing what to make because I new what kept me company. The thing I will work on next time is better logo design. Here is a pick into my lock down.
