Atmosphere and mood

We have been learning about atmosphere and mood. We had a picture and we had to write about what the atmosphere was and the mood. Here is a piece of writing I wrote.

Careers

These past few weeks we have been  doing our careers mahi and I have finally finished. It's been very long and boring but I'm finally done and that's what matters. The part I enjoyed was formatting my work into a google slide because I made it look nice and tidy. The part I disliked was researching because it took so long to find all the information I needed. The easy part was writing 10 questions because that was easy. We had to write 10 question that we would ask someone if we interviewed them and ask them why they wanted to so the job and more. The hard part was making sure I did everything correct because I thought I had missed something or missed a step. The thing I will do next time is go over it again to make sure I have everything. Here is my presentation on my careers mahi.

The leaky tank

On Tuesday we did some maths. The problem was, There were 9608 litres of water in a large tank. The tank leaked and only 934 litres remain. How much water drained out of the tank? I worked this problem out by using subtraction and place value. The part I enjoyed was bragging to Ebony about how she was 600 away from the answer and I was 66 away from the answer, it was funny. The part I disliked was using place value because it was so confusing and I had no clue how to use it. The easy part was using subtraction because it was the best way to figure out the problem. There was no hard part. Here is how a worked it out.

9608 - 934= 8674 which means 8674 is how much leaked.

Student voice

Last week some of my class wrote our student voice. A student voice is like a overview of the year. I wrote down what I enjoyed, what I want to do/achieve next year and what you look forward to. This is my last year and I'm off to collage so this is my last student voice while at primary. Here is my 2020 student voice.

What you enjoyed

What you look forward to or your next step

2020 has been a very weird and difficult year for all of us. I enjoyed how we could still come to school during the pandemic and learn. I loved working in a class with such a nice and amazing teacher so thank you very much whaea Toni. I will miss the school very much not walking through those school gates will be weird for me. I look forward to seeing my past friends who have already left. I also look forward to doing lots more things in collage like science and music.

So that's my 2020 student voice.

Dream job

This week we have been doing some mahi around what we want to be in the future. First we had to chose four jobs you wanted to do and research about it. We had to find out how much they get, what to study to get there and what is it what dose it mean to be it. The part I enjoyed was seeing how much money they make because I thought I would make that much and became rich. ( Hahahaha ) The part I disliked was researching because it was so boring. The easy part was picking four jobs because I knew what to pick and the jobs I picked were a lawyer, teacher, dentist and a photographer. The hard part was picking the one I wanted to do the most because I liked them all. Here is a photo of my messy work.

Fried bread

On Wednesday my class and I made some fried bread for our kaupapa mahi. They tasted very delicious and crispy ( some of them. ) We used ingredients such as yeast, sugar and flour.  I will be blogging about the process.

Ingerdents:

Flour, Sugar, Yeast, Warm water, Oil.

Equipment:

Big bowl, Contanier, 2-3 cups, Electric frying pan or a normal pan.

1. We got all our ingredients together and a bowl.

2. Then we had to get warm water not hot but also not cold.

3. Next Whaea Toni put the sugar and warm water in a container and waited for the sugar to completely dissolve.

4. When it dissolves add the yeast and put in a oven and wait until it raises .

5. Put flour into a big bowl and make a well using your hand.

6. Then you take you container withe the yeast inside and tip it into the well.

7. Then use your hand and mix well but mix from the inside and go keep going out.

8. After mixed well put in a warm place and leave it for 5-15 minutes.

9. Then take get your mixture and put flour on a table and need your dough out a bit.

10. Then use your cup to shape your dough evenly.

11. Add oil to your electric frying pan and turn it on.

12. Then add your dough pieces in  the pan and wait till it turns crispy brown

13. Finally turn it over on the other side and take it out of the pan.

Enjoy :)

Art poem

This week we had to write a poem about our art. It was very easy and fun to do. I wrote a color poem, a color poem is a poem that expresses about a color or a variety of colors. The part I enjoyed was writing about how I felt about that color and what it reminds me of. I didn't dislike any part of this. The easy part was thinking about what poem I was going to write because it just felt right to write that kind of poem. The hard part was thinking about how to present it because I didn't know how to present it. Next time I do this I will add more descriptive language. Here is my art poem.
