Student voice
Last week some of my class wrote our student voice. A student voice is like a overview of the year. I wrote down what I enjoyed, what I want to do/achieve next year and what you look forward to. This is my last year and I'm off to collage so this is my last student voice while at primary. Here is my 2020 student voice.

2020 has been a very weird and difficult year for all of us. I enjoyed how we could still come to school during the pandemic and learn. I loved working in a class with such a nice and amazing teacher so thank you very much whaea Toni. I will miss the school very much not walking through those school gates will be weird for me. I look forward to seeing my past friends who have already left. I also look forward to doing lots more things in collage like science and music.

My holiday
Welcome back to school people this is my first blog this term. On Monday we had to write about our holiday. My holiday was very boring what about your? Anyway here is my writing about my holiday.

I lay in my bed as I think about all the fun things my friends
could be doing. I miss the fun I had at school.
All I was doing was watching netflix while showing
soggy weetbix down my throat. I get up and feel sick to
my head and I lay back down because I feel too useless
to do anything else. I finally got up and had some delicious
avocado toast. After that I noticed that the lounge was
disgusting so I decided to clean up a bit. I vacuumed a bit
and picked up the rubbish on the ground but it was all a
waist of time because my grandfather made another
huge mess. That happened for most of my holiday.

Tuhimahorahora
On Tuesday we did some free writing ( Tuhimahorahora ) but in maori. It wasn't much of a challenge but it was fun to see how much maori I have learnt. The thing I liked was seeing if I could write it on my own because I wanted to challenge myself and I did pretty well. The thing I disliked was nothing because I enjoyed it. The easy part was knowing what I was going to write about because we had a photo to write about. The hard part was writing it in maori because I´m not very good at maori so that was pretty hard. The thing I will do next time is write a bite more because I did not write that. Here is my writing.

Shootout
This week we have been doing some procedure writing. Procedure writing is a type of writing, procedure writing is steps like the first step the second step and so on. Well our class had to chose a game we had played this term and I chose a game called shootout. The part that was fun about this was making a diagram to show how to play because I tried to make it look cool. The part I disliked was writing how to play because that took long to write because its hard to write but not hard to explain. The easy part was writing what materials you need and there was no hard part. The thing I will do next time is make a better diagram. Here is my procedure writing about the game shootout.

Free writing
The shadow
The first walk I took when level 2 was lifted was so beautiful. The sight of seeing flowers bloom once again was outstanding, hearing the birds tweet was the best and the wind pounding against my face was like being free from a cage. I got my feat all muddy and wet but it didn't matter because I had not been out for 7 weeks. I splashed and splashed until there was no water left all that was there was soggy mud. After that I saw a shadow run pass a flower that was about to bloom however something very weird happened it started to rote. It happened again and again and again it was like level 4 was back and nature was dying out. The shadow kept appearing and disappearing it was the creepiest thing I had ever encountered. This was like my nightmare had become a reality I then felt it touch me. I was starting to freak out and I panicked I didn't know what to do. I screamed out for help but no one heard me I then had felt sick and blacked out. I woke up and found out it was just a dream or was it...

This week we have been making list poems its been very fun and easy. A list poem is you have a certain topic and you write things about that topic but it has to be 9 sentences or more. The easy part was writing about my topic because I knew what to write. The hard part was knowing how to present it because I didn't know if I should make it attractive or normal. The thing I will do next time is nothing because I think I did a great list poem.

This is just to say
Today we have been working on some school kit work it has been fun and interesting. We did something called this is just to say. It is kinda like a poem but it kinda is like writing. We had a certain topic and the topic was the worst thing we did when we were young. The easy part was writing it because I had a clear idea of what I was going to write. There was no hard part because it was pretty easy. The thing I will do next time is write a bit more. But other than that I think I did very well. Here is my work.

Legacy of learning
This week my class and I have focusing on legacy of learning and it has been fun. We had 4 different legacy of learning the first one was about leaving a legacy If it is bad or good but we want to leave a good legacy and how a legacy effects people. We also wrote a negative and positive legacy about people and we got to chose those legacy. Our second one was about whakatauki we had to do three whakatauki and write what we think they mean in our own words. Our third one was about writing a letter to the past, we had to chose 1 out of 3 of those whakatauki and write a letter to the person who wrote it and the fourth one was about our personal goals for next year (2020), and what we have been successful in this year. The hard part about this was nothing because it wasn't a hard. The easy part was writing a positive & negative legacy because I had a lot of thoughts about those people and just wrote them down. Using a colon
This week we have been learning about how to use a colon : in our writing It is very fun because it's very easy to use and I think it is a great way to make a list. The easy part about using it was I could use it like all the time and I new where to put them. The hard part was trying to use it because I couldn't fine a place to put it because I forgot. The thing I will do next time is to use it more often and not to forget it is punctuation and it will get me higher in my rubric ( Punctuation ) Here is an example and what it means (colon).

Free writing /Electric eels
Today was the second day of our school holiday blogging and today I choose the free writing activity. The free writing activity is this.

The hard part was what writing genre I was gonna do because there were so many I wanted to do but I only did one and that was a report writing. The easy part was knowing what topic I would do because we had talked about tuna and sense I already new lots about short fins and long fins I decided to do electric eels. The thing I will do next time is try to do two because doing one took me 15min. Anyway here is my writing.

The switcheroo/Narrative
I am learning how to write a narrative piece of writing, I have an understanding of what narrative is. It is a story that is suppose to sound real but it is just a fake story it's not real just like unicorns. The paragraphs for narrative writing goes orientation first, problem arises, problem escalates and resolution. Also we had to use more than 2 pieces of punctuation. But the thing is I only wrote my orientation because I wasn't at school last week when my class wrote the other parts, I was sick. The hard part was knowing what to write because it's like nothing I had done before and because I had never done narrative writing before. The easy part was making my plan, I enjoyed making my plan because it made my writing sound like it was going to be amazing and it was. The thing I will do next time is make sure I write out what was on my plan probably because I changed my writing. My writing was about me and my dog switching bodies, I call it the switcheroo

In a tiny town known as Cliffwood lived a little boy named Cliff who lived with his mum Linda and his small kind dog Rico. Cliff attended Cliffwood primary it wasn't a big school but he had lots of friends. One day Cliff had gotten ready for school it was a normal morning as usual, he opened the door and the wind was pounding onto his entire body. He then left his house "Have a good Day Mum said" "You too mum” Cliff shouted. He then opened the silver gate not knowing the dog was outside playing with his unbreakable ball. Cliff then left to go to school accidentally leaving the gate open. Then on the tip of the dogs eye he saw the gate open and he boosted out the front yard , not knowing what would happen next.

Recount
This week I have been learning how to write a recount for writing it's been fun and also hard because you have to remember the gems which are personification, past tense, punctuation, staccato sentences, simile/metaphors, 5ws/orientation, structure, planning and paragraphs. The easy part about this type of writing was writing about my topic because it was a very cool topic I wrote about, My story was about going down the hydro slides at the waves pools in whangarei. The hard part was remembering to use better vocabulary because I had always forgotten to use better vocab in my writing. Medals Meaning
Today we had whaea tony came in and show us her great grandfathers and her grandfathers metals and we had to the metals they had they had four each. Then we had to pick out of all those 8 and research about what it means and what it means to them. The thing I had learnt about the medal I picked was that it was a medal you get if you, The United Nations Medal (Korea) was awarded for service during the Korean War (1 July 1950 to 27 July 1953) and for service in the first twelve months following the Armistice (up to 27 July 1954). It was manufactured in the language of each country that participated in the United Nations force in Korea. The Sovereign has given approval for New Zealanders, who meet the eligibility criteria, to accept and wear the United Nations Medal (Korea). Here is a picture of the medal I chose.

Haiku poem
For the past week we have been learning about haiku poems its been kinda fun and hard at the same time. There are rules to a haiku poem so there has to be 5 syllables at the top of your poem, 7 in the middle of your poem and 5 syllables at the bottom of your poem not 5 or 7 words but syllables. There is anther rule it can only be about a certaint topic or about felling. The hard part was creating words about my feelings because I was felling lots of emotions. The easy part was writing my haiku poem and making sure it makes sense. The thing I will do next time we do this is to came up with same different or better words for my haiku poem. Structure and language
Today I chose a writing goal and it is for structure and language rubric 4. I am going to re look at it in term 2 week 4 to see if I have made progress. My goal for writing is, I have all of the structure and one part maybe well developed. My next goal for next term will probably be for my vocabulary rubric 5 and if I do well on that it will make me more better at vivid vocab.

Postcards
For the past week we have been writing postcards for other schools in new Zealand we had to use a site called anagram maker it is a very productive site. We also had to get a item from the class and see, feel and smell the object, my object was a bottle ship and I had to make other words that you can make with that word. The easy part was making words because I had used the app anagram. It is a site you can make other words with so you do not have to do it yourself. The hard part was putting the words In a sentence because it had to make sense and had to rhyme if it wanted to. The thing I will do next time is try do it my self because I had a little bit of help by my friend. Here is my classes postcards. :)

My writing goal
